How to access “Applications” menu in Ubuntu Unity Desktop

open terminal
    or

type  ctrl+ alt+T

and type the following commands

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:diesch/testing
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install classicmenu-indicator
